2017-2018: Relic Recovery

In 2017, to accommodate the growing interest in robotics at Woodbridge High School, 9040 STEAMpunks was split into two: 9040 STEAMpunks Alpha, led by Patrick Park, and 13277 STEAMpunks Bravo, led by Trisha Nguyen. Building on the foundations laid in the previous year, the two teams had sought to combine both technical experiences alongside community service to bring out the best possible approach to FIRST robotics. 9040 STEAMpunks Alpha achieved the Compass Award, the Think Award at the LA Inter League Tournament and the Promote Award at the LA Regionals. 13277 STEAMpunks Bravo focused on starting the team, settling fights with Alpha over supplies, and ultimately competing at the LA Inter League Tournament
